Here's part 1 of a new blog series on How Business Automation Projects Fail. It tells a cautionary tale of how an apparently simple decision to install a common, widely recommended, off-the-shelf software package can go horribly wrong and cost thous…

I find that many small-to-medium local businesses are hiding from their customers and don't realize it. They still market to new customers in newspapers and the Yellow Pages, and they still stay in touch with existing customers (if they do) by direc…

About Me:
I majored in Music Theory at the University of Arizona, but my professional career has been all about computer technology and online marketing.

I've been passionate about classical music since I was a small boy. I've sung in professional choruses and written some choral and instrumental compositions. The mix of music and computers sounds strange, but there used to be an urban legend that IBM hired more music majors than math majors. The mental skills are similar, I think.

A Tucsonan since 1970, I love desert hiking and gardening.
About my Business:
I help my clients to stop hiding from their customers (ask me what that means) and I save money and make money for my clients. I design, build, and market websites that attract new customers and retain existing customers. This means web design, SEO (search engine optimization), SEM (search engine marketing), CRM (customer relationship management) and more. I advise clients on the most cost-effective and profit-making use of computers, software, and the internet. I provide executive-level relationship management with existing and new technology vendors.
My Ideal Customer is:
A Tucson business with a website that fails to attract or retain customers. Or a Tucson business without a website. Or a Tucson business without an IT executive that wants to maximize the effectiveness of their investment in computer technology and to have expert executive management of their technology vendor relationships.
My Ideal Referral Partner is:
A website designer who prefers not to offer marketing-related services to their clients. Or any B2B service provider whose clients lack expert executive oversight of their technology usage and their technology vendor relationships.

Stop Hiding From Your Customers

The phrase "stop hiding from your customersSM" is a Service Mark of Steve Diamond Consulting. I use it to highlight the importance of making your business easy to find online and of actively encouraging ongoing relationships with your customers, online and offline. This encompasses the areas of social networking, social marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), customer relationship management (CRM) and much more.

Hey Steve, Thanks for letting others know about inSide520. I agree that to many this is very new and there is a lack of connection on how it will really help their business grow. I'm just pleased to have someone with your experience as one of the early seeds. I'd be interested in talking to you about becoming an Organizer of the Network if interested.

I lived in Colorado for 35 years and loved to hike - I think I'd really enjoy a desert hike - it just made my list :)
